The new WPML Contractors System connects between developers who can help build advanced multilingual sites and folks who need their help. It’s live now and open to applications.

Sometimes you need a bit of help, which goes beyond what WPML support is intended for. Maybe it’s an entire website, maybe it’s a custom element and maybe it’s just to fix a problem with your design.

While WPML support will gladly help you troubleshoot problems and use WPML correctly, others can help you with actual development work.

For this, we’re launching today the WPML Contractors Club.

To join this club, you’ll need to be using WPML for at least 6 months and have at least three registered sites in production.

Then, you will see an invitation to join our contractors club:

The invitation to join WPML’s Contractors Club

This invitation will appear inside your WPML.org account.

Of course, if you’re not interested, just dismiss it. If you want to sign-up as a contractor, click on the ‘Yes’ button and fill the form. You will need to tell about yourself and submit three portfolio sites, which WPML team will review. We’ll get back to you if we need any help with your application. When it’s all set, you will appear in the contractors search page (which starts empty right now, but will not stay this way for long).

We’ve created this new contractors system for the benefit of everyone building and running multilingual sites. OnTheGoSystems isn’t involved in the payments and doesn’t take any cut. We truly hope that this system will help connect between clients who need help and developers who can help them.

If you have questions, ideas or suggestions, leave your comments and we’ll get back to you.

  1. As per your description “The page on your site that we send potential clients to, needs to say that you can develop sites with Toolset.” – do we actually need this text to be present on our sites? Clients don’t know what “Toolset” is. Would saying “we develop multilingual sites” or similar suffice?

  2. Happy New Year!

Great that there is a new system, but what was wrong with the old one?

I have already applied and am anxiously waiting approval of my submission, so we can continue helping people with WPML issues that are “out of the box” for the amazing WPML Support team!

    Cheers,
    Piet

    • Piet, some (mostly you) contractors were great. Others were not too responsive and we kept getting complaints from clients who were not getting replies to their inquiries. So we decided to move to a more dynamic system.

  3. Hello, I was really exited about the news and opportunity to help customers, we used WPML to build 70+ websites so far, and they are all in our profile. But I don’t see button to apply for a contractor status in my profile. Can you help please?

    • Hello Vadim,
as far as I could see in your profile you should be able to join. Let me check with the team. I will let you know.

      Best,

  4. Hi there!

This is without any doubt very interesting. In my case, I wasn’t filling all the conditions as I didn’t add the sites, but I’ve now added some of them. Still I don’t see any link to join the program.

Is there something else I should do?

    • We’re got a bit of a queue to review entries. We’re going through them and expect to clear the entire queue by the end of this week. Then, we’ll also connect the new Contractors System to the support forum, to make it clear that help is available.

You’re going to get a response to your application in any case (if it’s all good or if we need you to make some edits).

      • Hi Amir,

Thanks for your answer, which I read when you wrote it. I’ve just re-read it as I’ve seen the last announcement about the contractors system.

My question is: have I submitted (without knowing) any application? The only thing I’ve done is to add sites on my user account waiting to see the link to apply for it. Still don’t see the link.

        Regards

        • Submitting this application is something that you’ll notice. There’s an invitation email and an invitation box in your account. Then, there’s a form to complete and you need to submit several portfolio sites. If you did that, then your application is in the queue. There are a lot of clients who can join this system, but didn’t yet receive the invitations. We want to keep the review queue reasonable (to no longer than a week), so we’re delaying new invitations until we review current applications.

I’m sorry it’s taking time. We’re doing our very best to review applications quickly and send more invites.

  5. Hi,

great opportunity, but I don’t see your invitation that should appear inside my WPML.org account, as per instructions in the “Introducing WPML’s Contractors System ” page.
I thought that was because my subscription was expired but now I subscribed a Lifetime account…
    What’s wrong?

    Thanks
    Simone

    • Hello Simone,
You need your subscription to be at least 6 months old. You will see the invitation when you reach this period.

      Hope this helps!

    • Ok,
it’s not that important, but I thought I was considered an old subscriber, my first subscription was in 2014. Doesn’t count?
Today I only renewed and changed to Lifetime.
      Thansk, Simone
