Today, we released the first WPML 4.6.5 beta, which focuses on compatibility with the upcoming WordPress 6.3 version. Try it out on your development site and let us know what you think!

WordPress 6.3, scheduled for release on August 8th, 2023, is a major version set to revolutionize your site editing experience. You can expect features like:

  • Design layouts and manage content directly from the Site Editor
  • Improved navigator in the Site Editor
  • New command tool
  • View and manage patterns in the Site Editor
  • Block editor improvements

With WordPress 6.3 RC1 now available and the final release date approaching, we released WPML 4.6.5 beta to ensure seamless compatibility with these features.

To make the final version even better, we’d like to ask for your help with testing this beta.

Other Improvements, Fixes, and Enhancements

Besides compatibility with WordPress 6.3, WPML 4.6.5 beta comes with a number of improvements and bug fixes.

  1. When do you think this will be out of beta? The last released version (=the current one) led to a serious issue with our menus which has forced us to stay on the previous version. That issue seems to have been resolved in the beta version, judging from a quick test on our dev site.

    • Hi Per,
      Thanks for getting in touch.
We plan to release WPML 4.6.5 a couple of days before WordPress 6.3, which is currently set for finale release on August 8th.

    • Hello Jose,

Sorry to report that I cannot yet see that a fix has been associated with a firm release yet.

So the quick answer is “no”.

      Kind regards

      • Hi Yvette,

And what can I do for someone from WPML to fix this problem that is very serious for all our projects?

This problem was reported on May 23. How long do you usually take to fix these bugs?

        Thanks

        • Hello

Are you a current customer? If so, please use the Support Forum to find out how to best get any possible workaround or how to help with a fix.

As you can imagine, the fix for a bug will depend on many factors including:
          – complexity
          – priority as balanced with other feature releases or other fixes
          – market demand

I don’t have a vision to these factors for this issue. I can only see if it has been resolved or not and in which release it is scheduled to be released in.

That’s the best answer I can give you.
